Wood
We work exclusively with the finest Appalachian hardwoods. Call us at 215-262-7830 to learn more. Our favorites are cherry and maple, as both are a pleasure to work with and are endowed with spectacular grains. When freshly cut, cherry is muted beige, but within a few months it ages into a rich cinnamon. Maple darkens only slightly from its original blond. Tiger maple comes with natural beige and platinum stripes, and Birdseye maple is doted with an astonishing pattern of swirls, curls and spots. We finish our furniture with a matte catalyzed lacquer to keep it as tough as possible against the inevitable nicks, scratches and dents that are part of daily life. Alternative wood types include birch, ebony and walnut, which darkens even more than cherry. We’ll provide you with whatever wood type or combination you prefer.
